Why is my Away Team AI mentally retarded?

Tell me if you guys have the same headache. I beam down to a planet to liberate the researchers from the borg collective, I run towards the borg with my team following me and attack a group or borg......only to find out half my team decided to wuss out and stay still back a ways as me and my other away team member get our ass handed down by the borg. Another example is your away team members getting stuck, either in a rock, wall, or some other obstacle. I wish we could train their AI like we did skills -.-;

A simple answer to your question is a single word, CRYPTIC, need I say more.

A more simple answer use your tactics to tell you officers where to go...for some reason they seem to get stuck less that way. I have T set as my set officer position and G as remove all positions so they follow me
